Dear Minister of Education,

I am writing this to persuade you to not cut maths from the schooling curriculum.

Why?, if you cut maths from the subjects all the kids would have no knowledge about maths and won't be able to problem solve mathematics when they are older. They won't have knowledge about numbers and numbers come are very important in life, for example:

• Buying a House
• Buying a Car
• Problem Solving

Every year we have a competition called the EPro8 challenge it is where 12 schools come to participate in a problem solving competition. And by cutting this subject they will have less fun because they wouldn't know how to problem solve and answer the questions.

And imagine if we cut maths from the schooling curriculum, a lot of people would be living on the streets without houses and would be quite literally stupid. Without maths the world with change drastically.

5 Great Leader

1. LeBron James is a professional basketball player and he leads his team to win.

2. Richie McCaw is a professional rugby player and he saw a film about his life and him leading a lot of people.

3. Stephen Curry is also a professional basketball player and leads his team to win.

4.Lionel Messi is a professional soccer player and he is a very humble leader.

5.Dylan Irwin is just an overall humble leader and just really kind to others.

Definition of leadership

I think leadership means to lead other people to be leaders.

Weekends

In the weekends I played soccer, although we lost I had a lot of fun. After the game Charlie came over to my house to play Fortnite and other games.\

I also played soccer outside a bit because there was no training last thursday because the grass was too wet.

Overall this week was pretty calm.

Leadership

I like "Leadership is more Being than Doing" because I think too that there is a difference between Being a Leader and Doing 

Term 2 Week 3 Reflection

I found this week really different because it was my first time going to NYLD and not doing as much school work.

My favourite speaker at NYLD was Lisa Tamati because she was very resilient in her races and she worked her hardest even after she had failed like 7 times.

I also liked when we played the 'Jumbo Beach Ball' game. It was really exciting to go to NYLD for the first time because my brother went there when he was year 6 and he said that it was so fun.

Soccer

On Saturday we played soccer against Paeroa, we lost both of the games we played but it was only buy 2 goals. The first game we lost  2 - 1 and then on the second game we lost 3 - 1.

I played Striker on the first game and the first half of the 2nd game then I played Goal keeper in the second half, in the game where I played striker I got 1 goal and Charlie got 1 goal.

Summer and Emma got player of the day awards and we all had burgers.

I hope we can win next game against Thames!

Term 2 Week 1 Reflection

This week was really different because of the break time change, It feels like its gotten shorter but I like it because we get another break.

 I like that we got to go to the hall to play basketball. This week was really cold but I still played soccer outside.

Also on Wednesday me, Charlie, Elizabeth and Sophie went to Epro8 at Parawai school, We came 6th but we could have placed 3rd if we screwed in the last screw.

My favourite part was probably when we played basketball in the hall with Miles, Charlie, Dylan and Michael. Also on Thursday we had our first soccer training of this term.

I hope next week will be just as exciting as this week.
